Residential Care Homes as Places to Foster a Community
The Community Aspect of a Residential Care Home
Being looked after alongside over 30 other residents creates a community inherent with the home, as we care for many residents simultaneously. This allows for a greater homely feel within the residential care home as there are people throughout the home, all thriving in a similar environment and being cared for by our expert carers. This means that the community is a natural part of the home and care, as there is a group of residents being cared for, each being looked after within the home. Beneficial to the residents, Forest Brow incorporates this community naturally, with each new resident being integrated into the fabric of care and enjoyment within the home.
Individual Care Resulting in a Community
Within residential care homes, as each resident is being cared for in similar ways, there is a mutual bond created. Each experience is undeniably unique, with the carers looking out for each individual in different ways to ensure that their individual needs are cared for in the best way. Yet, this brings the residents together as they know that they are experiencing this together within the home. We provide an expert level of care to ensure the needs of the individual are solved to their best standard, and this certainly leads to the development of this community within the home.
Fostering this Community through Activities
Our activity co-ordinator, as just one specialist member of staff working tirelessly, ensures that the residents are adequately entertained and being able to experience new opportunities within and outside of the residential care home. Internal activities sometimes include seasonal activities, such as tailored crafts, and also consist of external entertainers being brought into the home to serve a great purpose, such as pantomimes. This experience is not limited to the confines of the home, as we also ensure to integrate our residents into the wider community of Liss in Hampshire through day trips and visits out. The residents live as locals, taking trips to the local seaside and visiting the area which they call their home when they are with us, bringing them closer together as a close-knit community and as part of the wider community that they become part of when they stay with us at Forest Brow.
Top-notch Care Provision
Our community is fostered best through the diligent work of the carers which we are proud to have as part of our team serving the residents. With all carers trained at Level 3 diploma level or further, there is educational backing to the high-level care provision we offer. This also includes carers that have achieved both Levels 4 and 5, furthering their abilities to best serve each resident and continue to foster such an irreplaceable community. The training is not limited to this, as our staff consistently undertake further training and qualifications to continue furthering their skill sets and ability to serve each individual resident and the residential care homes needs, making this the best environment physically possible. Our around the clock care within the residential care home ensures that whenever there is attention needed, we will be there immediately to attend to the needs of the residents. The residents are top priority, and we put are all into caring for them in the way that serves them best.
Close-Knit Community within the Residential Care Home
The community is close-knit as a result of our constant care provision and a residential care home environment that is friendly and close, with group activities, entertainment and a dining experience which ensures that relationships grow and that each individual has an incredible experience when they stay with us.
