The Value of Care Given by Residential Care Homes
Feeling seen and valued
The psychological comfort of feeling seen means that it is an undeniable necessity within care, especially with end-of-life residents. This is why at Forest Brow we work our hardest to ensure that the value of each resident is noticed, and that they feel seen by our expert carers. Every resident is catered towards individually to allow for this to be induced, as we wish that throughout the stay the residents do have this comforting feeling within our residential care home.
Developing a community
Within residential care homes, there is a need to develop a close-knit community in order to make the residents feel ‘at home’ and comfortable within their day-to-day lives, allowing for the best experience as they stay with us. This is simply a reflection of the unique needs of individuals who do wish to live in a homely environment as they are cared for. We have been successful in creating this close-knit community at Forest Brow through features such as collective activities both within and outside of the home, allowing for our residents to integrate within the community but also to gain familiarity within the area, adding to this feeling of community.
Individuality and care for differing needs
Individual and subjective care is certainly necessary throughout all aspects of life, but especially within the provision of end-of-life care. With many residents unable to physically support themselves during these stages, carers are a crucial part of their lives and must tailor their caring experience to the new situations they face. Residential care homes allow for individuality to be kept at the core, allowing for successful care. Our award-winning team can ensure that your loved ones will be cared for to the highest degree that we can. Within Forest Brow, this also includes the ability to provide specialist care for residents with dementia, so if that is an area required please let us know and we will be keen to continue to adhere to the individual’s unique needs.
Consistent provision of care
Care homes are of significant use in that they provide their standard of care consistently. There is no worry about the residents’ doings as you can be assured that they are being catered towards by a carer at all times. At Forest Brow, each resident is assigned a carer, allowing for 1-to-1 care at all times, so that they not only feel seen and a part of our community, but also are kept content at all times to the greatest extent that we can ensure. We ensure that we tailor our care to the individual, as previously mentioned, in order to make them feel valued and to offer them a high standard of well-being as they stay with us.
Ensuring well-being
Through the multi-faceted skills offered as a result of our wide and exceptional team, provision in all aspects of life for the residents is of highest level. Residential care homes have a key role to play in maintaining a high living standard for those they look after, which is a priority for us. From the meals offered daily by the chefs, to the role of the activities co-ordinator in tirelessly ensuring the entertainment and comfort of every resident, we can ensure that every resident’s well-being is being cared for at Forest Brow. This especially comes through the exceptional care of our carers, who are all trained to at least level 3 Diploma in care.

A Range of Care Provision
Despite this blog particularly discussing end-of-life care, it is important to note that we are flexible at Forest Brow and have many options depending on the individual needs of those coming to stay with us. As previously mentioned, individuality is a key component of care within any residential care home and at Forest Brow we are keen to offer this, even at the initial stage of deciding what option is best for the resident that is coming to stay for us. We have day care, respite and long-term options on offer, please do get in contact with us today to discuss varying options and tell us more about your specific case.
Idealistic location
In a rural village located within the town of Hampshire, the surrounding countryside of the home and the home itself combine to offer quality accommodation. With our aim of creating a homely atmosphere, we are keen to make the home a welcoming living environment for every resident. This involves the use of single-occupancy rooms, with the option of en suite facilities. Again, we are always aiming to cater to the individual needs of the resident. The community feel is echoed through our group dining, that can be enjoyed on the veranda during the nicer months.
Delicious Dining
The quality and nutritious content of the food we offer is not our only focus when looking at dining, but also the community aspect that can be nurtured. Despite our chefs cooking home-cooked meals from locally-sourced ingredients, we also want dining to be about creating bonds and welcoming every resident. We strive to make each meal an enjoyable occasion through the varied menu and the quality time spent as a group, enabling the close-knit community to be fostered.
